Palestinians Promise Quick Action Against Militants After Suicide Bombing

The top Palestinian security commander on Wednesday promised swift action to stop violence against Israel, a day after a suicide bombing in Gaza disrupted fledgling efforts by Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to coax militants into halting their attacks.
Abbas, who is under tremendous pressure by Israel to take action, arrived in Gaza on Tuesday for truce talks with Islamic militants in Gaza. But the Hamas suicide bombing, which killed an Israeli security agent and wounded eight, clouded his prospects.

Abbas huddled with his security advisers and commanders in an emergency meeting after the bombing late Tuesday and later held talks with leaders of the two Islamic groups, Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Lt. Gen. Abdel Razek Majaide, the top Palestinian commander in Gaza and the West Bank, said Wednesday that Palestinian forces would soon be deployed near the border with Israel.

Promises have been made by the Palestinians before.

I cant understand why.

The thing is going to have to be done sooner or later, and by agency of the Palestine Authority....
