Missile strike kills 2 Hamas militants
8-year-old Palestinian girl killed by gunfire, 7 wounded

<snip>

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip, Aug. 30 — Israel killed two Hamas militants, including a leading field commander, in a helicopter missile strike Saturday, the latest in a series of attacks that have sent Palestinian militants into hiding. Israeli troops, meanwhile, killed an 8-year-old girl and wounded seven other Palestinians with submachine gun fire in the Gaza Strip’s Khan Younis refugee camp, witnesses and hospital officials said.

THEY SAID the girl, Aya Fayad, was shot in the chest by soldiers firing at the camp from a nearby military base. The army couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

Also Saturday, an official loyal to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat refused to step down from his post after the Cabinet, run by Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas, voted to replace him. It was seen as the latest in a power struggle between Abbas, who has the backing of the United States, and Arafat.

Arafat has repeatedly tried to undermine Abbas and the prime minister’s authority has faded rapidly with the escalating violence. Saturday’s missile strike seemed likely to further hurt his efforts to implement the U.S.-backed “road map” peace plan toward Palestinian statehood.

Earlier, four missiles were fired at a vehicle carrying the two Palestinian men, witnesses said. It was the Israeli fifth missile strike in 10 days.

4. Ok, I'm Confused AGAIN !!!
So if a bomb\missle\assassination happens anywhere else in the world, and has happened within the last 8 hours, it's LBN. But not if it happens within the borders of Isreal???

Look, I just post events that I see, that haven't been put up on the board yet. If a bomb goes off killing innocent Isrealis, I post that too. I ain't takin sides here, just trying to get the current news out on the board!!!

:argh:

sigh...........

6. Ha'aretz says little girl killed by tank shell
But here also, a little Arab girl doesn't get a headline. Hell, she gets one sentence that starts with "Also". One could say even Ha'aretz has been corrupted by the bigotry which is a natural by-product of ethnic conflict. That is, if one is as sensitive as the pro-Israeli posters in this thread.

Two Hamas men killed in Gaza; 3 bombings foiled

****

Also yesterday in the Gaza
Strip, an 8-year-old
Palestinian girl was killed
after an Israel Defense Forces
tank shell hit her house.

8. Gotta love how the IDF
Just go lobbing shells around in one of the most densely populated areas on earth.

Think they'd be a different reaction, say, if the Palestinians were just casually bombing Tel Aviv? The squealing at the deadly Khassam coming within an inch of actually hurting somebody suggests an easy answer :eyes:
