Flight 93 and Flight Explorer's Flight Path GIFs

"UAL 93" = Airline + Flight Number
"350 440" = 35,000 feet altitude, 440 knots (C=climbing)
"EWR SFO" = Headed to San Francisco
"B752 2:15p" = Specific Type of 757, Estimated Time of Arrival 2:15

From these GIF's, when the plane when turned around near Cleveland, it slowed down and climbed to about 40,000, then it sped up and came back down to 35,000 feet, then it slowed down significantly until just before it crashed when it sped up again. Its fastest recorded speed is 509 knots = 586 mph (that's pretty damn fast), just after it turned around near Cleveland. The destination of DCA first appears just as the plane makes a sharp turn to the north once it passes Pittsburgh (about 9:58 AM, near the time the explosion and white smoke were reported). And, most importantly, once the plane gets to 35,000, it never descends below this altitude for its entire tracked flight.

1) How were these GIF's created without a transponder signal?

2) Was Flight 93 really at 35,000 feet just a few miles before it was widely reported to be buzzing by several "eyewitnesses" over a 30 mile area at an extremely low alititude?

3) Why would the hijackers have filed for a change of destination to DCA long after it was obvious that the plane was a completely off course hijacking? How did they make this request and who granted it?

1. There is another question
Edited on Sun Dec-25-05 04:01 PM by kerry_s
The ETA was changed twice:

1. DCA 10.28
2. DCA 9.34

How could the ETA show 9:34 when it was well after that at the time of the crash????

And how the altitude is still 35.000 ft even after crash????

Anybody has got archive data (of 9/11 day) for Flight Explorer Personal Edition??

2. How does Flight Explorer work?
Edited on Mon Dec-26-05 10:49 AM by hack89
where does it get its information and what does the software do to contacts when it loses information on them? It might simply be due to how the software is designed and does not reflect reality.

3. Flight 93 = Flight 175 ????
Edited on Mon Dec-26-05 01:01 PM by kerry_s
I just found interesting information that flight 93, according to BTS data and other pilots, took off at 8.28 and that flight 175 was heading west, not 93,

flight explorer data in some way might be faked... it shouldn't have got an altitude and speed data after switching off transponders... and there is more "mistakes" on those animated gifs, especially for flight 175 (I wrote about it but without any response)
