This is a post I wrote about Jack Hooper (CSIS head, aka 'Canadian CIA'). It does not pertain directly to 9/11, but it does have to do with Canadian anti-terrorism dialetic catching up USA's one. As usual, it's Orwellian, full of holes and I thought it would be moved right away in the 9/11 forum pit. Hooper made indirect references to Ali Mohammed, I think we all know who this guy is.
Assorted officials took part today into an arrogant, paradigm shifting, fear mongering Senate committee hearing much likely designed to dismiss and prove wrong the critics of the Canadian mission in Afghanistan and redefine the concept of the much dreaded "terror threat" to a much more insidious definition that is an incitative for the same kind of paranoia the Russians, for example, suffered trough the Soviet rule.
Forget about al-Qaeda, it didn't work out well enough for us. YOU are the terrorist suspects now.
Jack Hooper, CSIS deputy director said about supposed homegrown terrorists, "they are virtually indistinguishable from other youth. They blend in very well to our society, they speak our language and they appear to be -- to all intents and purposes -- well-assimilated" <1>. It makes me feel so secure when I especially remember this one time when a CSIS lawyer said they'll cooperate with countries who practice torture to... to.. keep us safe from the evil Canadian youth I guess, right <2> ?
Hooper went on to say that homegrown Canadian terrorism is now "on par" with external threats <3>. You know, that thing they call al-Qaeda and "international terrorism" that has been justifying every death in Afghanistan, Iraq and every cut in civil liberties ?
