It was one of the grandest propaganda schemes in history...

The CIA, since it's inception, has been known to do some daring and brave deeds, as well as a number of stupid and deadly ones. However, with the invasion of Iraq, they were presented with a challenge unlike any they had seen before. The President of the United States had invaded another country under the pretext of finding WMDs and nuclear materials. When it was finally realized that there were no WMDs, the President of the United States and his entourage of schemers, decided they had to find another rationale for the invasion.

At first, they tried to persuade an unthinking public that Saddam Hussein was connected to the al Qaeda which had planned the attacks upon our WTC and the Pentagon. After a time, that story broke down. As more and more attacks by Saddam loyalists and other Iraqi freedom fighters took place upon the Americans and American-trained security forces of the Iraqi puppets, the Administration blamed it on "al Qaeda" elements in Iraq. Surely it could not be Iraqis...

But for the al Qaeda to be a truly believable force in Iraq, they needed a leader. That is when al Zarqawi was born. Whether he was a real person or not, the CIA went about creating his image. He had a very identifiable face - mostly from the full lips with which he was portrayed. The CIA propaganda mission was to create an enemy from that image. They would show him all over the American press. Soon, there would be few people that did not know what Zarqawi looked like. But, did he really?

There was only one catch. They could not kill him. Because to kill him was to kill the al Qaeda threat that was the legitimate reason for fighting in Iraq. So he had to remain alive as long as he was useful. When the time was right, they would "kill" him. But did they really.

But when the election of 2006 was approaching, the time was ripe. They would attack a few insurgents and blow them to smithereens and proclaim that one of them was Zarqawi. With their new technology, they would have no problem making a total stranger look like Zarqawi - all they had to do was photo shop his lips. Everybody knew him. Could there be any doubt?

Another reason was that there were some many lies and urban legends surrounding Zarqie that it was better to start fresh with a new guy and do it right this time and let Hollywood write the script.

between what the CIA, the NSA, the Pentagon is up to. Seems like they are probably working together.

with all the secrecy, it's like one big CIA. It seems they keep blaming things on intelligence agencies then replacing the leaders as though that will fix the problem, when it wasn't even their fault in the first place. (Like with the "bad intelligence" on Iraq WMD).

:eyes: I know that "upstairs" they don't want to hear anything about Zarqawi's death. He's "dead" and there shouldn't be questions unless they come from a verifiable Mainstream $$$$$'s source. But...9/11 Forum? Do they know something about Zarqawi that we don't.

that had 70 something recs yesterday. Zarqawi was invited basically by the Bush admin in response to their despicable actions. Nothing is what it looks like on the surface. Not that it is that hard to figure out.

How was he able to survive for as long as he did and only have a few red splotches on his face?

then the next day it was tempered to; he survived and died later, probably cuz people noticed his face looked more like he'd been beaten. Now they are delaying the results of his autopsy, probably while someone from the Pentagon negotiates a payoff with the pathologist.:eyes:

They built this guy up, yes. That's easy.

But to make THAT credible there had to be REAL GIs tracking him, and a real villain to track.

They can't just fake the whole thing.

And, they should have killed him closer to the election.

Why not? Look at the Bin Laden faking they've been doing for years. I'm mean it's so obvious a child can see it.

They only need a few people to pull these things off.
