Jerry Falwell: "Blow them all away in the name of the lord."
I just saw an excerpt on the Daily Show from Jerry Falwell's CNN interview with Wolf Blitzer. "Kill the terrorists . . . Blow them all away in the name of the Lord" ? How does he come up with that stuff? He's become a parody of himself. Did anyone see the interview? Is he actually serious?

3. yes, that's the one
The clip was with Jesse, but I had the impression it had been a recent interview. I guess the Daily Show just got around to using it because they've been on vacation.

4. Taking the Lord's name in vain...
I have never interpreted that commandment as condemning people for saying "Oh, God!" (which really has a different meaning entirely through language). I think the intention of the commandment is to stop people and nations to do things in the name of the Lord, especially when they obviously have ulterior motives.

You can't declare war in the name of Jesus. Unless it's the war against violence and doing harm to each other. But, I guess we're just thinking of two different Jesuses.

Blowing people away in the name of the Lord? Oh, God!

7. I will use Scripture to say how I feel about Falwell
From James 5

"Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on Earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered innocent men who are not opposing you."-James 5: 1-6

That about sums it up, huh?

that falwell has never read the bible himself. Except to find passages that fit his particular hatred of the day.

14. I Saw That
wonder if he was looking in the mirror when he said that? Un fucking real...
Why can't any one of these terrorists (like bu$h, fallwell, gonzalez, asscrak, etc.) ever get a terminal illness, or something that will force them to look at THEIR OWN mortality, and maybe, just maybe make a deathbed confession that will give us some hope... Never happen.

17. PERFECT Billboard for us. Just Falwell's exact quote with his name below.
Of course, we can also use Falwell's quote right next to a Bin Laden quote saying pretty much the same thing.
