What happens if they discover they are just talking to themselves?
The right wing talking heads on TV, that is.

What if they discover, one day, that they are talking to themselves?

That viewers have dropped out by the MILLIONS? (Kerry voters.)

That Americans all over the place have cancelled their cable and satellite subscriptions?

It takes two to play a game, right?

As long as the right has you engaged in THEIR game, they have you. As long as they have you discussing THEIR words, THEIR ideas, they have you.

But without the other side listening, engaging, sending emails, there is no longer any game to play.

I don't see any mutli-billionare stepping up to buy a few networks for the left. (Barring Gore's network which will start in 2005, but won't really be political, per se.)

So why continue to play their game, on their terms? End the game.

Leave them talking to themselves. Make them choke on the lost profit. Make the advertisers scared. Turn your backs.

It's probably the hardest thing for some of us to do--unplug. But I'm thinking it may just be one of the most singularly effective. They will notice. Your activism may consist of nothing more powerful than shutting them off.

3. Exactly
which is why I turned it off and am encouraging my fellow Dems to do the same.

Anyone can keep up with the news of the world easily through the internet. This site alone (LBN forum) is a great source. There's no need to give the talking heads one moment of our time or one bit of our money (through cable and satellite subscriptions).

4. I don't watch TV "news" at all
I read some newspapers and keep up with reports on the internet. This leaves me clueless about many issues people talk about on TV, like Kobe Bryant and Scott whats his name the guy who murdered his pregnant wife.
