LIBERAL RADIO
I got liberal radio!!!

Ed Schultz! I tripped into this station while I was in the car today. He was talking about Christian values and how they don't match what the Republicans expouse. And about how Farwell was a disgrace and a warmonger. Then he segued into fraud talk. It was glorious.

I got liberal radio! I got liberal radio!

No more Mark Belling for ME!!!

His website:
www.bigeddieradio.com/

And another good resource for finding liberal radio in your area.
www.democracyradio.com

I'm quite pleased.

9. pretty good, wf
not so bad, just hoping this damn year ends without any other disasters. In 2004 my friend Tim was hit by a lady running a red light, killed on his way to work; I was laid off, that moronic dipshit is still "president" and my brother passed away - it's enough already. :o

7. Schultz would be a good bet for Texas; he's a tough talking
moderate who likes guns and the working man.

Not my ideal by far, but he doesn't shrink from a fight--and his callers are NEVER screened, leading to some very interesting debate at times.

8. Yikes! It's www.democracyradio.org
sorry folks. That other link leads to a "domain is for sale" site that I'm sure did try to hijack some folks. Sorry!

Once again that's www.democracyradio.org.

15. Thank God For Satellite Radio
Edited on Thu Dec-16-04 08:19 AM by redstateblues
According to the www.democracyradio.org site the closest station to my home in Nashville that carries any liberal talk is 300 miles. I love my satellite radio- best money I spent last year.

16. I'm in Nashville too ...
... and sometimes, if I'm lucky, I can hear Randi Rhodes on the way home, through the static, fading in and out through an oldies station on the same frequency, on 1690 out of Atlanta.

This must be what it was like for Soviet citizens to try to pick up Western broadcasts.

10. Now if we could get neocons to leave OUR viewing habits ALONE..

The number of indecency complaints had soared dramatically to more than 240,000 in the previous year, Powell said. The figure was up from roughly 14,000 in 2002, and from fewer than 350 in each of the two previous years. There was, Powell said, “a dramatic rise in public concern and outrage about what is being broadcast into their homes.

What Powell did not reveal—apparently because he was unaware—was the source of the complaints. According to a new FCC estimate obtained by Mediaweek, nearly all indecency complaints in 2003—99.8 percent—were filed by the Parents Television Council, an activist group.

The prominent role played by the PTC has raised concerns among critics of the FCC’s crackdown on indecency. “It means that really a tiny minority with a very focused political agenda is trying to censor American television and radio,” said Jonathan Rintels, president and executive director of the Center for Creative Voices in Media, an artists’ advocacy group. Founded in 1995 by longtime conservative activist L. Brent Bozell III, it set out to make an impact in 2003, including what it called “a massive, coordinated and determined campaign” for more action by the FCC against broadcast indecency. “We delivered on that promise,” Bozell said in the group’s annual report.

12. Defining indecency
That's what worries me.

I don't need a Moral Majority style daddy telling me what's suitable for me to watch. I'm an adult.

And some of these folks seem to think knowledge is dangerous. One's faith should be able to withstand knowledge, or it isn't a very strong faith, is it.
