And a speech as well. He is such a nice man. Got an autographed copy of "Intelligence Matters". Reception at Branscomb and signing at Annie Pfeiffer Chapel. Florida Southern College is on Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland. Disclaimer, I am not in the pics, hubby just took them.

Good picture.

Graham is the center of the crowd on the right.

2. He's a good man. Many Bush worshippers turned on him...
because he was against the war. Our local paper has been giving him huge kudos, and I am very glad. He played the moderate game, but in the end he had to take a stand.

The other Dems would not listen to him about the war, in spite of his credentials.

Graham Talks Intelligence at FSC

By Bill Rufty
The Ledger

LAKELAND -- President Bush should demand the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld if Rumsfeld fails to comply with the Intelligence Reform Act being signed into law today, transferring intelligence operations to a central director, U.S. Sen. Bob Graham said Thursday evening.

The Miami Springs Democrat was responding to a question from a member of the overflow audience for his lecture at Florida Southern College. The person asking the question asked how the federal government can ensure the new centralized intelligence agency will work.

In an earlier interview with The Ledger, Graham sidestepped a question about whether the embattled defense secretary should resign.

"I am certain he did resign," Graham said.

"Traditionally, all Cabinet officers submit their resignations at the end of a president's first term. So then the decision to stay on was not Rumsfeld's but the president's."

And another tribute to him.
http://www.theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20041213/COLUMNISTS0502/412130347/1106/NEWS

SNIP..."He conducted orchestras, directed fighter jets for takeoff and inspected cargo at the state's ports.

Shortly after he was elected a U.S. senator, he went to Polk Community College to teach a history class. He asked the professor where he was in the curriculum and then delivered an hour lecture without notes on America and the Florida Territory during the 1830s..."
