Since a magpie is a bird, I don't think rabies applies. But the #2 definition is "someone who chatters incessantly." That certainly does apply to Laura Ingraham. I think she is a hybrid between a magpie and a rabid, over-bred pit bull bitch with a fresh litter. Hey, did I mention that I do not like Laura Ingraham? Who does? Who could?

...and did they all study under William Shatner? The shouting, the posturing, the hand waving - it's all so much bad acting, and so little substance.

On tonight's Hardball, Hillary Rosen and Laura Ingraham sparred over the Gonzales nomination. Ingraham performed her traditional animated drama, while Rosen actually communicated thoughtfully and in measured tones. The contrast couldn't have been more striking. Ingraham would make a great guest on the Jerry Springer show...

7. Good point and observation.
Let me ask you a question, Critical Thinker. How do you respond to questions from the "dark side?" My guess is that you respond in "thoughtful and measured tones." We communicate that way. We are deliberate, and somewhat slow (in a thoughtful way), in our responses. To whatever! Kind of like Randi Rhodes. Ever listen to Randi? She is a master of cadence and a genius with politics. Randi is the antithesis of Jerry Springer or Ru$h Limbaugh.
