Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 05:18 PM by curlyred
i imagine 91% of the Republicans approve of him.

Just one more reason we need someone from outside the traditional structure.

9. Let's see
we have lost an election for president in '04 we should have won, have lost ground in congress in the last two elections and he believes the party is in great shape?

10. I appreciate the fact he tried. However . . .
I'm tired of him saying every year "we're going to have a great year". Take back the house, the Presidency, whatever is on the burner.

This man is fooling himself. Telling ourselves it's all OK won't begin to solve our problems.

13. Okay. We still don't have the White House,
we've lost seats in both the Senate and the House, and we're likely to lose at least one liberal/moderate member of the Supreme Court in the next four years.

Great shape? Well... compared to the Whigs, perhaps.

17. McAuliffe is a fucking used car dealer
He assures you that you've got a "honey of a deal" on your car as the transmission drops into the street. This guy is part of the Democratic fish that is rotting at the head. I'm tired of hearing him prettying up our defeats every two to four years. If everything is so great, why did I scream and cry after the election?

I never want to hear or see from this tired butthole again.

14. Hey, it's true

Things are so good that the denial level has fallen- and everyone's now able to indulge themselves in the open-eyed admission of and whining about how dysfunctional the Party has become. A real internal melee is a luxury that is indulged in as soon as it becomes truly affordable.

22. You could argue that the party is in good shape, great would be hard
Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 06:05 PM by Hippo_Tron
Considering, well we didn't really win anything this election. You could easily argue that Bush was simply impossible to defeat because he was a war-time president and that all of our senate losses were in states that Bush took in double digits. You could argue that considering the circumstances Kerry did extremely well making it such a close race.

Or, you could argue that the party has some serious problems, the Kerry campaign was poorly run, and that Bush is a fucking moron who should've been destroyed in a landslide.

I tend to take a little bit of both.

And I don't really give a shit about McAuliffe. Frankly I'm greatful that he left the party with a surplus. It's not his fault we loose elections, it's the candidates' fault. The DNC Chair doesn't shape the message, he promotes the message, and more importantly raises money to promote the message.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but who gets to vote? Delegates to the convention, corporate interests?
