I'm pissed off!
Not only is Bush pushing forward with his destruction of Social Security, http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=1495636&mesg_id=1495636
And the right is using FDR's image to push this plan http://dailykos.com/story/2005/1/12/165759/517

BUT now, two of the most influential and eloquent speakers on our side (kos and jerome of www.dailykos.com and www.mydd.com) are mired in this stupid argument. They are up against the right wing noise machine and can't get the fact through that they disclosed they were payed by the Dean campaign. Now, the whole Armstrong Williams story has been neutralized, and some of our best speakers and organizers are hopelessly distracted. I'm so sick of getting our asses completely kicked

3. O'Reilly, Novak, and Fox News are all pounding on them
This is their attempt to neutralize it and take out dean at the same time

2. They are clearly political partisans, it is ethical for them to get paid

On the other hand, when reporters like Williams, who claim to be impartial, take money to spew right wing BS, they need to spend time in prison.

5. One of the reasons I read Kos and Mydd
Was because I knew they had the inside scoop on the Dean Campaign and still have those connections. And of course they are partisan, political blogs tend to be so.

4. Willians got TAXPAYER money! Dean didn't!
If you want to be mad a Dean for using his donated money to pay for political support, so be it, but that's an entirely different sotry than the Dept of Education using your and my tax dollars to buy political support!

It's two different situations all together!

6. I know that
But guys like O'Reilly and Novak don't bother to do the proper research and just pile on them and try to blur all the distinctions. Part of the problem is they don't care about the distinctions, part of the problem is that they are just too old to understand the medium.

7. plus they did not hide the fact
second - they were technical consultants. Armstrong Williams took taxpayer money to spew propaganda on his radio show without telling his audience that he was being paid by the Bush administration to push it. There's no comparison between the two. They are trying to muddy the waters and thanks to the well coordinated right-wing noise machine they are getting away with it. Even Paul Begala bought into Nofacts argument. It would be nice if the people who are supposed to be on our side would do their freaking homework!

8. I agree. Bsers like Begala should do their homework. Contact him.
I did a little searching, and didn't find a direct link to Begala, but here's a link to CNN Crossfire comments. I know it's been canceled, but someone at CNN will read your emails!

I think it's worth sending a bitch email. If they get enough of them, maybe something will change.
