9. They are running the old shows and I saw part of one
the other night. It isn't funny any more. It's tragedy.

12. True
It's one thing to watch it as a goofy, malaprop prone guy, another after thousands worldwide have died.

2. Wes is a genius
so I can see why they want him to do it. I think the Veterans piece comments would be most appropriate however.

5. Not surprised
Wes has a great sense of humor. Like that thing about how he would have been a Republican had Karl Rove answered his calls. Now that was funny. Imagine? A whole lot of assholes took it seriously. Even assholes her on DU. Who would have expected such idiocy from thinking people?

7. Am I Just Dense, or Did This Reporter Make an Erroneous Statement?
'The retired four-star general continues to make appearances on political talk shows, just as he did in the summer and fall for the Kerry-Clark ticket.'

WHAT Kerry-Clark ticket? He DID stump for Kerry-Edwards, but that was decided before autumn arrived.

On a different note...since Wes Clark was sought as an advisor on this project, I'm led to believe the sitcom is of a military nature. Is the American public going to be subjected to numerous military-themed sitcoms like during the Vietnam Era? There's no doubt in my mind that series like 'Hogan's Heroes,' 'Gomer Pyle, USMC,' 'F-Troop,' and 'McHale's Navy' were all developed at the urging of who-knows-what governmental agencies to get the American public in a wartime frame of mind. Will we see a repeat of such a push to get military-themed sitcoms back on our screens? Will the American public fall for this thinly-veiled psy-op...again?

I think Wes Clark is a great man - one for whom I would campaign in 2008 - but I truly hope he doesn't lend his support to such an endeavor...IF the story is referring to a military sitcom.

10. If only it had been Clark/?
we might be watching a different inauguration today.

And the international community would be thrilled, because they know Wes, & respect him.
