This may be of interest to Deaniacs...
...as it does show an example of how the party machinery is working at present, bottom up...

1. /slap Reid
"I'm not sure Howard Dean is the answer to our problems," Reid said. "What we need is not someone who only speaks to the progressive wing of the party, but all wings of the party."

Hey Harry, here's a tip for you. The non-progressive CITIZENS in this country vote Republican. You do like VOTES, don't you?

2. I've been a Democrat for a long time...
since way before I even heard of Howard Dean. On the other hand, would anyone even be talking about the chairmanship if Dean wasn't interested in it? He didn't bring me to the party, but I'm not stupid enough not to recognize that he's bringing new life to the party. If we are a progressive party, interested in new ideas and advances, why shouldn't we go with a guy who brings new energy and enthusiasm, as well as a lot of very dedicated fans?

Honestly, I don't know a thing about the other guys, except for Rosenburg, and from what I hear about him, he represents the 'establishment wing' of the democratic party.

We need to be more like Dean and Boxer, and stand up and be counted.

4. cmon' Harry you obviously have pre-conceived ideas of Dean
He is against the war, check. He is for a balanced budget, check. He is for Health Insurance for all, check. He is for a strong economy which creates jobs instead of shipping them overseas, check. Shouldn't the Democratic party, liberal, moderate and conservative embrace these ideals.

I see so much ignorance about Dean masquerading as pontifications about how unsuitable he is in one way or another for ____fill in the blanks____.

AFAIC, he's not THAT liberal, nor is he THAT conservative. I adore him and he's changed my politics for the better. I've always been a liberal, I'm still a liberal, but I can see things from a very different, more unified and unifying perspective thanks to Dean. So I really think of myself more a Dean Democrat than a liberal anymore.

If people aren't getting their info about Dean from Dean himself -- which I've said since the primaries and before -- they're not getting the straight scoop. Period.
