Hispanic Harm from SSI Dismantling

Important issue to remember in fighting the dismantling of social security. From the Democratic Hispanic Address today:

"Taking all of these things into account, Democrats are increasingly worried that Republicans are going to push for Social Security reform that threatens not strengthens the benefits that our grandparents and future retirees count on.

"Ask your grandparents what they would do without that Social Security check when 75 percent of Latino seniors would live below the poverty level without this guaranteed benefit.

Given the fact that we lost quite a bit of the Hispanic vote I would this would be a good way to start winning them back.

Everyone in this country should have family members who will be affected by this issue!

It is not

It is an insurance program to protect people just like any good life/health/auto/disability insurance.

You pay the premiums and when the time comes that something happens and is covered under the plan then it pays out.
