Condoleeza Rice should NOT be confirmed. Do people get promototions
Edited on Sun Jan-23-05 07:05 PM by fujiyama
for incompetance in other jobs? Rice recieved a bunch of files by Sandy Berger regarding terrorism, but she never even LOOKED at it prior to 9/11.

And so Bush reshuffles his cabinet and is allowed a different, arguably high position in the cabinet with full blessings of the Dems?

Apparently, too many Democrats believed so. I'm sorry, but this has been a terrible disappointment. If this is any indication of how Dems will behave for the next four years, they will have no excuse to even blame Bush, because they will capitulate on every turn.

I'm willing to put Kerry's IWR vote in the past. He did the right thing by voting no and if people can't see that I don't know what to say...and God bless Boxer. It's nice to see that SOMEONE has guts to question the incompetance and lies that have come from CondoSleaza the last four years.

I know this was the commitee confirmation, but do you think the actual result will be different? I know Rice will get confirmed anyways, but this is like saying "you're going to fail anyways, why bother trying?"

Why bother doing anything? Why not just not vote in the first place. After all, why do we support Dems? As far as I know, it's not to give Bush a rubber stamp.

I don't even know what to say if Dems confirm Gonzales, who basically approved torture.

I really am disgusted with this behavior and I have been one to excuse Dems on several turns, but this was inexcusable.

5. True, I know this was in the commitee to take it to a full vote...

but can you imagine the outcome to be much different?

I'm just sorely disappointed in all senators, including those I was hoping would provide some real opposition.

Is there any accountability left and if Dems in DC won't do who the else can or will?

3. Look at Bush's whole life
He got one promotion after another despite extreme and neglectful incompetence which still carries on today.

4. It's not about what is right anymore, it has gone way past that... it is
now about who will pay caesar loyalty regardless his actions, inactions, flaws, faux pauxs, mistakes, duplicity, failure, shortsightedness, narrowmindedness, superficiality, partisanship, corporate favoritism, unconstitutionality, fundamentalism, etc. You know, the usual suspects.

6. as to promotions of incompetents, it's called the Peter Principle -- in
this case it may have/be a double entendre (LOL) with respect to her boss, smarmysmirk (er, sometimes known as "hus...")

9. saw it a lot in corporate america
Good ol'Boy Perseverance 101 - sad for America, that, so many of our human resources are abused in the wake of good ol'boys doings ... and, they don't care of their damaging ways as long as they are making a lot of money and maintain control ... they certainly don't care about our Founding Principles or how they apply to democracy in the workplace (heard it with my own ears - 'who cares?')

a lot of fraud and corruption going on in Business news these days ... a lot of fraud and corruption going on in Gov't these days ... wonder what the common denominators might be?

The Public Trust be damned.

I agree with you.

It's a tragedy; and, it's destroying our Nation.

History will not be kind to those politicians who think we're living through business-as-usual times ... our destiny is on a course based on the lie that Bu$h** is the legitimate president ...

Integrity should be our elected officials' guide.

10. Let your senators & reps know how you feel
If no one holds them accountable, they will continue to make bad decisions.

Here are some online action that make it easy for you to let them know what you think about Rice and Gonzales.
