What if the Iraqis WRITE IN their vote..."we vote for the US to leave"
Hypothetically, suppose a large number of Iraqis did a "write in" measure on their ballots:

"we vote for a measure that the US military leave Iraq immediately"

Do you think that with 'freedom being on the march' and such, that if the people spoke, in a democratic election, and their verdict was that the US should leave...(please pardon my sarcasm)...that we would just pack up and say, "OK, then, the people have spoken, let's get going now".

Ya think it would work? Would Bush concede THAT election if it was clear that he lost? Or would he disregard the will of the Iraqi people and impose his will on them by using military force?

If he did, would that mean Iraq went from having a military dictator...to having a military dictator?

3. I've wondered the same.
Of course, you know that those ballots will never see the light of day. An exit poll might be interesting though....

:-)

5. The major pan-Shiite party
that is expected to win is running on a platform of getting the US to leave.

So they don't really need to write it in.

6. "As soon as possible"
was the recent words of al-Hakim, who is "expected" to become new PM. This is a major back-flip as earlier he was saying that US troops should stay. You can never tell what their attitude will be if the Shiites take power...
