RW topic of the day: Hillary
The fact that she's a liberal masquerading as a Moderate. The fact that she just gave a speech reaching out to pro-lifers, saying there should be common ground in preventing abortion through education, contraception and pre-natal care. They're having discussions about her chances (saying they might not be bad). They're talking about her holding on the liberal base (their example -- Babs will still vote for her regardless. News flash -- we're not all Babs) while getting the moderate vote. And about how she was always more of a liberal true believer than her husband, the centrist who didn't get bogged down in ideology.

O'Reilly, Rush, and on the Dem side, Shultz. Hmmm, Hillary's a hot topic right now. Wonder why now.

1. Anything to cover up the Rice hearing.
Because there are some spectacular Senators going after the war mongers.

5. Then if she's nominated, would you consider a third party candidate?
Seriously, would you?

9. Yes! Definitely!
After watching her pander to the religious reich there's no way I would vote for her.

The right will never trust her and if she tries to gain their favor the left will never trust her either. One promise-anything-to-get-votes-and-then-do-what's-expedient Clinton in the White House was one too many.

10. So she's going for the support of every group and will end up with
the support of very few who actually trust her, it sounds like. If you thought Kerry was too right for the left and too left for the right, wait til you see Hillary.

That's my superficial view, anyway.

12. Replacing Bush with the Clintons' legendary sleaze and triangulation
is not what most people have in mind when they think of 2008.

3. Hillary gone rw...
It's more like she's a rightwinger masquerading, now and then, as a centrist.

She's never been liberal.

6. They are trying to create a split in the Dems
I have no problem with what she said-of course it is a difficult decision and of course people feel bad about it for a long time all that goes without saying.

8. MSM will prop her now .................
only to swift-boat her when the election heats up.
Oxyrush and the RW have so much "classic" anti-Hillary material already in their stockpile that she wouldn't have a chance. But the barrage will only be unleashed in its full ferocity if and when she is the democratic nominee. Until then, prop her up so others don't have a chance.....

13. It's what they did with Bill.
Define the RW of the Dem Party as extreme left to drive the center right and make normal Dems appear to be radicals. They call the right hand ditch the middle of the road.

14. I'm already so tired of this......
It's my opinion, although I LOVE Hilary, that she is not electable and is therefore a moot point. However, the RW constantly pushing her supposed "agenda" and supposed conversion to conservatism.....What is this???? Apparently the only thing the right wing holds against Hilary is that she stood by Bill through his public infidelity. However, they admire Kathy Lee Gifford, even have her as a role model, for her support of Frank's sleazy affair. Granted, Frank wasn't the President, but still.......

If Hilary is now voicing more conservative values, let her votes back up her opinion. Until then, judge not.......

15. I agree
I don't see her running anyway. Yes it is admirable for anyone else to save their marriage but not for Hillary to. They are angriest at her because if she had separated or divorced Bill he would have been finished. Hillary was really the only one who could have brought Bill down but she didn't, they will always hate and despise her for that.

16. they will throw ANY critricism that will stick.
if they thought the pedophilia charge would stick, they would be photoshopping her and Michael Jackson on the same stage together ala kerry and fonda.

We democrats have got to stop playing defense only and give America an alternative.

Play offense by standing up, loud and clear, for your beliefs!

17. I'm beginning to hate this woman
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 08:21 PM by PlanetBev
Bush has said a number of times that the country is not ready to see Roe v. Wade overturned. What in hell is Hillary trying to do, help Bush by softening her stance so it will be easier for Americans to accept the re-crimminalization of abortion?

I've fucking had it with these DNC sellouts. If Hillary thinks this will help her in '08, or that she has any chance of being president, she is profoundly delusional, a legend in her own mind.

Shameless pandering. She expediently handing the keys to Junior so he could flatten Iraq. Fuck you, Hillary.

18. I agree. but in a nutshell
Given this political climate, we're damned if we do, you know the rest.

I am hoping (and praying) that one day soon the hypocrisy of this administration and many of its supporters will be recognized. It seems to be turning already, slowly. At the very least, it seems that those who truly believed that Bush shared their "moral values" and would continue to fight for them after the election, are now coming to realize the same thing we Christian Dems knew all along. Values have very little to do with this administration. It's all about pandering for votes. As a Christian, I've been morally outraged for a long while now at this manipulation. I don't wish my discouragement on any true Christian. But, I have to admit, I am a little vindicated that the "Christian Right" is suddenly realizing they may also have been hoodwinked. Bush needs to be held accountable for something or to someone, for pete's sake!
