Any person who is of draft age who voted for W and doesn't enlist
in his war is a shameless coward. They don't care if they send other people to their deaths as long as they are at home and comfortable. If they truly support Bush's war they should show their ultimate support for it by enlisting and serving in Iraq. My two cents.

1. I suggest this regularly, actually.
To people of combat-capable age who say they support the war in Iraq and what Bush is doing there. Especially if they go on to talk about how important it is to fight for freedom from terrorism I mention that the military is short on troops, and then ask why they haven't enlisted.

This tends to piss them off greatly, as it forces them to stare into the gaping maw of their own cowardice.

6. I've gotten in response "it's not my place"
This from a college educated white 21 year old white guy. I guess what he means is, "I'm not poor".

7. Yeah, I have heard things like that, too.
I usually reply to that with something along the lines of, "So other people should go die for something YOU believe in? What kind of a pussy attitude is that?"

I find that that specific retort seems to really upset them.

2. I completely agree with you. I never feel like I have to argue with
anyone age 18-35 who agrees with the war. All you have to say is, if this is a just war, what does it say about you that you are not enlisting. But first you have to let the person express just how just and important this effort is to the safety of the world. Give them a little rope before you hit them.

3. In all fairness, the war is not the only reason people voted for
or against Bush or for or against Kerry, nor was it the primary reason for many people.

Voting for a candidate doesn't (or shouldn't) construe blind acceptance of all positions that that candidate holds. For example, I disagree with a lot of the stances of our Democratic senator, particularly his pro-life views, but I vote for him anyway.

5. So it's simplistic obviously it isn't going to happen
but if these young gung ho people are supportive of Bush and his war they should show it by enlisting. That is my opinion. Otherwise they are moral cowards, imo, since they support a war and feel it is fine for others to serve but not themselves.
