Are we willing to challenge the liberal/Moderate Republicans HARD in
Edited on Wed Jan-26-05 08:04 PM by Pirate Smile
2006 to pick up their seats?

I keep seeing these comments about how we don't want to alienate these Republicans.

We need to take over their Senate seats. These are Republican seats in very Blue states. Chafee, Snowe, Collins, Specter - is that all? They are a dying breed and the RW will challenge them hard in their primaries.

Chafee and Snowe are up in 2006. We need to pick up 6 seats.

If we don't fight for these seats, we will NEVER win back control of the Senate. I don't think it is counterproductive (which I have also seen).

They are a vote for Frist for Majority Leader. A vote for no investigations, Bush's Judges and Wars, no checks and balances. Generally, a rubber stamp.

We need to tie the Bush Administration like an Albatross around their necks.

The Government currently has no checks and balances. Most people don't think that is healthy. I bet the Democrats and Independents in Rhode Island and Maine don't and if we make that the issue, they may not vote for them.

The Repukes aim viciously at any moderate Dems in red states and we seem to like them and don't want to hurt their feelings. BULLSHIT!

WE NEED TO WIN!!!!

1. Hell yes! We should attack their seats.
They've had plenty of time to come to the light, and they have failed. If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem. Snowe, Chaffee, Collins, Spector, ALL must go.

ass we also need to kick in 2006 but no one argues about that).

What would be the best strategy to defeat these guys?

People in Maine and Rhode Island - any ideas? Some big names and heavy hitters would be helpful.

4. Excellent point:
Every single Republican in Congress voted for either Bill Frist or Tom DeLay's lapdog. We need to tie the radical Republican leadership around the necks of every single Republican in Congress, like an albatross. That's one way to help defeat the "moderate" Republicans.
Think you're a "moderate" Olympia Snowe? Lincoln Chaffee? Then WHY did you vote for such a captive of the intolerant religious right wing? True moderates don't support radicals like those guys.
