NBC tonight acted like the "green zone" was something new. We had a "green-zone" (if not a few zones like that) in Saigon, complete with golf course. Any takers? Hey! No! Tu Do Street don't count, you numba-ten GI!

The MACV Compound! That include part or all on Ton Son Nuht AFB. I spent my first night, last night, and a few in-between drunken nights in the MACV compound in Saigon.

On edit: MACV = Military Assistance Command Vietnam

17. I understand your point, however
MHO comparisons to Vietnam are irrelevant.

Vietnam was a disaster, Vietnam went on for too many years. We lost too many people there.

Iraq is exponentially worse. Nothing in our history can compare to what is to come.

We haven't lost as many people but the consequences of our actions are so much greater and deadlier.

Iraq has turned countless of people, regardless of country, against us.

We are now the target for fundamentalist religious Muslims everywhere.

For generations to come.

The repercussions are horrific.
