Poll question: Alright- one more '08 poll?

I know. I suck.

First off, I think we all concede that Clark will win any '08 poll here on DU- quite decisively, even. So let's have a poll without him to allow Clark supporters to vote for someone else, if they choose to (what if Clark didn't run?)

So, let's see what happens. I'm going to put up the most likely candidates, in my mind (not counting Clark), leaving a couple of slots open for someone else to nominate and fill. Let's try to keep it to candidates who are likely to run, though (I'm taking up a slot with Gore, whether he's likely or not :P ).

6. I could maybe see Boxer, but I don't think that Hackett or
Dean are very likely. Hackett's never been elected to anything (although I think he could win if he gets some coverage- and there's a very good chance that he would), and Dean has pledged not to run.

11. None of them running
Not to mention Hackett has never been elected to anything, even though he's a great guy. Dean said he wouldn't run (and so has Gore for that matter) and Boxer wouldn't stand a chance in the general election and probably won't run.

14. Feingold, tied for 1st as "most progressive" person in the Senate
by Americans for Democratic Action, a liberal advocacy group: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russ_Feingold#Ideological_rankings .

He's definitely considering a run for President, and his seat is not up for election until 2010.

He's also the only senator to vote against the PATRIOT Act.

I suspect he'll be getting a lot more attention on DU as we get closer to 2008. Right now it seems like he just doesn't have as much name recognition as the other progressive candidates.

It's not that I wouldn't vote in a real primary if Clark didn't run. I just don't like the idea of a DU poll that leaves him off.

22. Biden has only two hopes for the nomination....
Bob Hope and No Hope. As for Hillary, if the DLC get their way, she will probably get the Democratic nomination. Then again, who knows?

the General and I voted for in 2000: President Al Gore.

On edit: Very close second would be the man the General and I both voted for in 2004: President John Kerry.

...especially since Kerry is pretty clearly running, and Gore probably not.
