Russ Feingold on TPMCafe
I see Russ Feingold will be guest-blogging at TPMCafe's Table for One starting Monday, Dec 12th. (http://www.tpmcafe.com/section/tableforone) Very cool....

I admit I don't know a tremendous amount about Senator Feingold but what I do know I like....

I wonder if he will respond to comments like Wes Clark did....

In any event, should be interesting to see what he blogs.

1. I'm liking him too
:D If Kerry doesn't run again I will probably support Feingold.

2. Thanks for the head's-up!
I'm a BIG Feingold fan, and he's definitely go my support if he throws his hat in the ring in 2008! Straightforward, articulate, and incredibly charming!

3. Russ is as close as you'll find to a "LaFollette Progressive" in DC
I remember about a hundred-odd years ago (or it seems like it was), Russ nailed a list of promises to voters on his garage door in Middleton. When he did this, I, being the cynical type, thought "Well, that's a good gimmick, but I don't *really* believe him." I was proved wrong. Russ really does believe what he says, and he follows through on his beliefs.

The other thing to know about Russ is that he has a WICKED sense of humor -- ESPECIALLY when campaigning. I haven't seen many other politicians use humor in a campaign as effectively as Feingold. Anyone else remember his 'bigfoot' ad? (where Bigfoot crossed behind him during a commercial?) Or his famous 'Elvis' ad? I don't think I'd ever laughed out loud at a campaign commercial before I saw some of his.

The only thing is: I'd be damned sad to lose him as a Senator.

4. How 'bout Tom Barrett as a replacement in the Senate?
I think he would have been a helluva lot better Guv than Doyle.

BTW, as long as we're on Cheesehead politics, I'm pretty pissed at Kathleen Falk for her primary run against Peg Lautenschlager. I think the Doyle people put her up to this. Any thoughts? (I may also post this question on the Cheesehead forum.)
