I think this frame reinforces the notion that Republicans love war because they get to pay back political favors with crony defense contracts.

HALLIBURTON Anyone?

The REPUBLICAN party
BULLISH ON WAR SINCE THE MEXICAN REVOLUTION

(edit: I had it backwards kinda)

1. So, if hawkish, you're bullish. If dovish, you're bearish.
Neat. Get rid of the birds and go for the mammals.

Many here at DU were against the war before it started because it was wrong on so many levels, fraud, international law, colonialism, geo-political strategy, etc.

The substantial increase in opposition to the war recently is based on the spreading perception among the public that we are losing the war in cost benefit terms and that there is no realistic prospect of success. Nothing is politically more diastrous to the proponents of war than defeat on the battlefield.
