O’Reilly Claims He Is Personally Responsible For Lower Gas Prices »

In an interview yesterday with Fox News’s Neil Cavuto, Bill O’Reilly claimed that his reporting intimidated oil company CEOs into lowering gasoline prices:

O’REILLY: I have guys inside the five major oil companies - my father used to work for one of those oil companies by the way - who have told me that in those meetings they look for every way to jack up oil prices after Katrina, every way, when they didn’t have to. They got scared because of my reporting and reporting of some others. They said, “Uh ho.”

CAVUTO: So wait a minute, you’re not, you’re taking credit for gas prices being down from where they are?

O’REILLY: I said my reporting and some reporting of others. They got scared.

1. He has "guys" inside the oil companies?
You know, Bill, in any other country they'd have your ass thrown in the loony bin for this kind of shit.

4. He is personally responsible for bigger loofah sales.
He gets worse all the time, doesn't he? The crackup is coming. Not sure I suspect substance abuse. A certain skinny blond is one who doesn't add up on that. Bill sure hates the First Amendment, and sure takes credit for everything. The bigger ego, among the right wingers? Sounds like a poll.

5. So his daddy 'wore a texaco star' and pumped gas;
for a living. I'd be proud of that myself, enough so that I'd say so on national news.

14. Those were the days when service stations checked under the hood.
Washed the windshield, tires, radiator, battery, oil and brake fluid. My first car was a 1935 Ford and gas was eighteen cent a gallon. Diesel was six cent a gallon. The year was 1949. "Sun Shine and Health" magazines were indeed big with the young boys. {Showed happy naked folks at nudist colonies around the world) And "Gone With The Wind" was a racy film. The "Outlaw" was banned in thirty six states, because Jane Russel showed too much cleavage.

6. I thank my heavenly father for bill O'Reilly!
He does so much us. Imagine the courage to take on the powerful oil companies for the sake of the needy.

I'm going to put a winged figure of Bill O'Reilly on top of my Jesus-Birthday Tree, this year.

7. Bill generates a lot of gas; the oversupply could account for it.

to constantly have to boost himself like this. Personally I have never felt very accomplished when I had to boost myself. Poor, poor Bill.

16. Me thinks he confuses the "vapors" that emerge from one end
of his digestive tract, or maybe both ends, for natural gas that propels cars.

He should go back on the Daily Show and have Jon explain the difference, like Jon told him that France is like Peppermint Patty, while Lucy is the REAL threat.

20. We could use some of that gas
If we could hook the sphincter on his lower mouth up to the Metro-link, we could probably dispense with the use of more conventional sources of natural gas forever.:hurts:

18. I'd rather give Chavez credit for embarassing....
the US. OTOH, the US oil barons had to lower the gas prices, so we could shop for Christmas and help the economy.
At Wal-Mart - :sarcasm:

21. I believe..
.... that talk in DC of a "windfall profits tax" is responsible for lower gas prices.

And that the lower prices won't last more than a few months.
