Preparatory measures taken to sell oil in euros
TEHRAN, Dec. 2 (MNA) - The Chairman of the Majlis Energy Commission, Kamal Daneshyar said here, on Friday, that preparatory measures have been taken to sell oil in euros instead of dollar, adding that such a measure is quite positive and should be taken as soon as possible.

As for the probable consequences of such a decision, Daneshyar said that when such a measure is taken, the United States would soon realize that it is not the one who can always inflict economic damages on the Islamic Republic and that Iran can also get even with it.

12. Yes, he will...but the entire world, except Israel, is against the US now
Oh, I forgot India likes us for now because we sent her all our jobs. Poland just found out from Condie that they're war criminals because they participated in our little party, don't think they're too happy.

The US only has its bombs and limited fuel to fly the jets to drop the bombs...then what?

4. From globalresearch, a slightly dated but still highly relevant article
http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/CLA410A.html

The Iranians are about to commit an "offense" far greater than Saddam Hussein's conversion to the euro of Iraq’s oil exports in the fall of 2000. Numerous articles have revealed Pentagon planning for operations against Iran as early as 2005. While the publicly stated reasons will be over Iran's nuclear ambitions, there are unspoken macroeconomic drivers explaining the Real Reasons regarding the 2nd stage of petrodollar warfare - Iran's upcoming euro-based oil Bourse. <<-Would someone please explain this term, I've seen it used a lot lately.

In 2005-2006, The Tehran government has a developed a plan to begin competing with New York's NYMEX and London's IPE with respect to international oil trades - using a euro-denominated international oil-trading mechanism. This means that without some form of US intervention, the euro is going to establish a firm foothold in the international oil trade. Given U.S. debt levels and the stated neoconservative project for U.S. global domination, Tehran's objective constitutes an obvious encroachment on U.S. dollar supremacy in the international oil market.

7. Here is the Bourse Definition

"bourse
One entry found for bourse.
Main Entry: bourse

5. Doesn't matter
It is a commodity. They could sell it for Budweiser and it would have no market impact.

9. I can just imagine those fools sitting around, rubbing their hands...
together, and arguing over who gets to press the button on the football. I can imagine their gruesomely maniacal faces as they think about actually pressing THE button...

Bunch of straight-jacket candy.

13. Not so my friend
You have to understand, a LOT of oil is bought and sold daily. This means that not only is the oil in high demand but also the currency it is exchanged for. The decrease in demand for dollars would be significant.

14. Yeah, and from what I understand, oil going Euro w/a de facto devaluation
of the dollar would also raise the cost, in real terms, of our foriegn debt.
