Repubs say, 'You're against the war just because you hate Bush.."
Edited on Sun Dec-04-05 10:04 PM by kentuck
This is the ultimate projection of right-wingers like Hannity and Limbaugh and many of their followers. We're against Bush and Cheney just because they are our political enemies and we hate them? But it is the reverse projection that is true. They love Bush because they put their politics above country. They block out all the bad things that have happened to our country and all the lies that have been told because they refuse to accept, for political reasons, that their leader might be wrong. It is beyond comprehension or even possibility. The only reason the liberals hate Bush is because they want him out of power. But the reverse is actually true. The Republicans love Bush and refuse to see any faults because they want to stay in power. Liberals are mostly legitimate in their reasons for "hating" Bush but conservative are totally illegitimate in their reasons for loving Bush.

17. I am considerably older than you are, but let me tell you what I think it
all means, from what our young uns have told me.

WORD! is sort of like, YEAH, or back in the swinging sixties, RIGHT ON! or ME TOO, or I AGREE....it is an affirmation of the statement by the previous speaker.

Hope that helps.

4. They are projecting their own thought process over ours
Politics over policy. Conservatives did not support the war in Bosnia, but you know they would have with a Republican CiC.

9. I wish I could completely agree with you. But
I very much fear that most repukes actually share critical traits with the shrub: an inability to empathise with the disenfranchised, a mistaken belief that all the good in one's life is a consequence of one's own moral superiority and personal wisdom, a love of tradition even if it is dysfunctional, an unwillingness/inability to be truthfully introspective. They look at our pResident and see a man much like themselves.

18. I completely agree.
If any of them had to answer why they love Bush and had to prove it was really a legitimate or intelligent reason, they would fail. The research would surprise them.

Bush supporters have a free-floating love of Bush and their own politics that is completely unmoored from rationality. None of their bullshit is grounded in anything but other bullshit. Some of them are just misguided people thinking they are doing the right thing. Others are either stupid or in cahoots.

22. I opposed Clinton's wars too
I heard a freeper caller confront an antiwar guest on a radio show, asking him "so, did you oppose Clinton's war in Kosovo?"

The guest answered, yes, and elaborated on his opposition to that war, leaving the freeper flummoxed.

24. Well those reprobates on the right
tried like hell to say we that opposed this war were against the troops. The democrats made it clear, crystal clear no one was against the troops. Today, we who still oppose the war are still pro troops... And as Senator Lott said about Clinton and Kosovo," I will support the troops, but cannot support this president". Well, that was good then and good today.

Listen, if the troops were pulled out of Iraq I would be willing to say they would be greeted all with much respect and with honor. It is the damn commander in chief that will receive the dishonor in his actions and in the way he LIED to make war and then use these honorable men and women.... NO DISHONOR FOR OUR TROOPS.... DISHONOR GIVEN TO THE MAN AT 1600 PENN. AVENUE....
