McCain on Imus: "After we leave, they'll consolidate and come after us"
McCain, leaning into the "fear factor" right now on "Imus In The Morning."

Imus said that we should find a way to save face and leave as soon as possible, letting Iraq "blow up at the hands of somebody worse in charge." McCain replied "You heard what Zarqawi said, right? That after we leave, they'll consolidate and come after us?"

So I guess the solution is to NEVER...FUCKING...LEAVE...IRAQ.

:grr:

1. Either never leave or Iraqify the place, by killing everyone so there
is no one left to consolidate. Let freedom ring.

2. If McCain campaigns on a "Stay the course in Iraq" platform
he's a dead duck. Frist's "Shaivo tactics" or Santorum's "gay scare rants" have a better chance for success with the pukes now.

4. McCain ignores one of the odd things about suicide bombing...
Such bombings are almost always against occupiers. Which suggests that if we leave Iraq the majority of the risk to us goes away.

The other day in Rice's speech she talked about all sorts of risks that would follow from an American withdrawl. She never mentioned increased risk to the domestic United States. Now, why wouldn't the Marquisa de MushroomClouds with her penchant for fear mongering have mentioned that a pullout would threaten the domestic US? Odd, that.

6. Whether we leave in 2 weeks, 2 years or 20 years,
Iran will be licking its chops, waiting to come in. It's frightening, but that's the consequence of Bush stirring up this hornet's nest.

8. So, if we stay they'll never come after us?
What the fuck kind of logic is that? What is keeping them from coming after us while we're still there?

:argh:

9. Actually
Imus said that they would blow up their country and it would leave it in the hands of someone worse than they had before. What he was trying to say, through the marbles in his mouth, was that they would destroy their own country and then be taken over by someone that was worse than Saddam had been.

What struck me about McPain's comments/answers was when Imus asked him if he thought about running for President and McPain answered "Everyday". In my opinion, he is phishing for a platform, running some ideas up the flag pole to see just who salutes them. He also said that he would make his decision about whether to run or not AFTER the 2006 elections. Sounds to me like he wants to see just how big a hit the GOP takes in that election before he throws his hat in the ring.

He and Lieberman need to get a room. <--- :sarcasm:

16. Yes, they really do need to get that room--get Wilkes' suite in the
Westin, or Watergate--it's the Republican thing to do.

10. The best answer
is to invent a time machine, go back in time and NOT invade.

Simple.

(There are a few other things we should change too)

11. Then if we stay
we need to provide basic services and safety & security for the Iraqi people. If Bush can't even do the bare minimum that it takes to run a country, then we need to get out and let the Iraqi people figure it out.
