Holy Joe's staff trying to influence on-line poll--let's hit back!
Go to www.courant.com Then click on the page to the article: "Weicker, the anti-war candidate." Along with the article is a poll asking if you'd vote for Lie-berman or Weicker. Daily Kos has an e-mail from Holy-Joe's campaign staff saying that "extreme lefties" have hijacked the poll, and it's time for Lie-berman's right-wing fanatic supporters to strike back (right-wing is my take). Right now it's 55-41 in faveor of Lowell; "other" has 4%.

58. Weicker's a crock and a liar,,,,,and an opportunist..
He's no great shakes as a candidate. I want Lieberman to bow out due to negative pressure and another Dem candidate in 2006. Weicker's a fool.
He lied to CT citizens and we got a State Income Tax from him.
He did a deal with the Indian casino....gave them slot machines and the state gets a VERY small portion of the take. The casinos had explosive growth --- you should see their parking lots of cars now....insidious gambling took off in CT under Weicker's regime....to the detriment of all other CT businesses.

I'm from Connecticut. I went on Lieberman's bus tour to NH to announce his re-energized prez campaign back in 2004, during the primary. Listened to his dull, lackluster speeches and knew he was NOT the right candidate. The small, quite quiet crowds should have been a message for him back then, that he was ineffective in politics or influencing the public.

6. Thanks--looks like the word is getting out. Yes, it is only an online...
...poll BUT it shows Holy Joe does not have grass-roots support. I'm originally from CT, everyone I know still there is a Dem. They don't just don't like him, they really hate this guy. He could really come down hard if the Dems put someone in the primary that people felt they could rally around.

19. If I were from Connecticut, I would only vote for Weicker on one condition
That he swear to caucus with the Democrats when determining a senate majority.

Since he's a former Republican, I don't know if he'd do that. And if he wouldn't do it, it'd be a cold day in hell before I'd vote for him.

40. Ok, maybe I'm confusing this with the NY Times article of the other day...
...and in this one he does note that two prominent Dems have talked him about their (meaning the two prominent Dems) running against Joe. Obviously he has more of an in with Dems than Repukes these days. Also, he really doesn't want to run--says he'd do it if he can't anyone else, and it appears as if "anybody else" means getting another Dem.
