I just shook hands with Bill Clinton!
Former Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton announced how $90 million of Katrina donations would be dispersed in the affected states.

They were in New Orleans today.

"Clinton pledged to continue the fund raising effort. "The American people should know that we have not raised nearly enough money to make you whole," Clinton said to an audience of approximately 400 at the University of New Orleans library."

5. This may seem like a dumb question, but

Did his hands seem particularly soft? My significant other shook hands with him onetime & said he'd had the softest hands
my other had ever felt. (This was right around the Monica time)

11. No :(
Secret service guys were rushing him along. He shook a bunch of our hands on his way out.

Bush left immediatly after the event but Clinton hung around in the crowd for a good 20 minutes talking to people and shaking hands and stuff.

What a guy!

Of course, it will be interesting to see what * does after his disastrous tenure in office. I'm sure he'll be a whirlwind of charitable work here and around the world!

26. Oh, my God, you're right, AZBlue ...
... with all the GOOD he will have accomplished by the time he leaves office, there probably won't be any poor, sick or hungry people left to help!

So I guess he'll have to content himself with one endless vacation, clearing brush in Crawford.

21. My wife shook Clinton's hand...
twice in 1992 (same event...he just doubled back)and she claims, as others have frequently reported, that for those few seconds she felt like she had his complete attention. Me? I wasn't positioned like she was so I missed out. I shook Springsteen's hand a couple of times. My brush with fame.

23. I have also had the pleasure
during his first run for president our pro-choice group handled the preparations for his visit to our city. We made sure everything was prepared at the hotel and the venue. I got to shake his hand and got his autograph. I admit to being a little awe struck at the time. I cherish that autograph.

The encounter made my day...I got a much needed lift from all the depressing stuff down here.

He's really got an unbelievable aura about him. I can't explain it but he radiates.
