Wolfowitz says Iraq no longer my problem

This is an excerpt from Dana Milbank's story in the Washington Post:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/07/AR2005120702224.html

The former deputy defense secretary, now president of the World Bank, gave a 30-minute speech Wednesday about the virtues of peace, the ills of poverty and the benefits of multilateralism — without a mention of Iraq.

“One of the things that’s fun about this job is development is a unifying mission and you can get a lot of people together across a table to put their political differences aside,” said the man President Bush calls “Wolfie.”

Only when questioners pressed him about Iraq would Wolfowitz address the subject. ”How do you account for the intelligence failures regarding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?” he was asked.

“Well,” he said after a long pause, “I don’t have to.”

3. Iraq is an abstraction to the neocons. It became a little more real to
that shit when they almost killed him. He quit soon after that.

5. Wolfowitz done wet his pants...here's a photo of Wolfowitz casing his cell
Wolfowitz done wet his pants when that mortar hit his hotel...he came running out and all the front of his pants were all wet.

Here's a photo of Wolfowitz pre-casing his forthcoming cell in The Hague.

Here's a cartoon thrown in for good measure.

4. Bullshit you don't, Paulie.
You've been lobbying for over 10 years to invade and now that you got what you wanted, its all gone in the shitter. If you really think you won't take the fall for Bush you better think again because loyalty is meaningless when he wants to save his own ass.

6. This makes me ill
“Well,” he said after a long pause, “I don’t have to.”

Meanwhile my friend's daughter is stuck in Iraq with their plans to leave for home today in tatters, gearing up for her next convoy with the boys to make ammo deliveries. And for what? Well, who the fuck cares, right Wolfman?
Pray the next 3 weeks until another "leaving slot" opens are safe for her and the others. And send all the positive energy you can to my friend who is nearly in a state of hysteria after days and days of conflicting information only to hear that her kid gets to stay in the gloriously free Iraq another 3 weeks. I'd like Wolfie to spend a few weeks running convoys...

14. That's not much different from what he said on 9-11
while meeting with Rummie in the Pentagon. When they were told that a second plane had hit the WTC, Wolfie says they decided to continue their meeting since there wasn't anything they could do about it anyway. The USA was under attack and the two top civilians at DOD didn't think they should even bother to wrap up their meeting because there was nothing they could do about it!
