Andrea Mitchell on Imus giddy over Bush's 40% approval rating
I was watching Imus and I hear them talking about some new poll showing Bush's approval is rising. At the same time they flash the new poll up on the screen showing 40% approval. So I am thinking MSNBC graphics must be wrong because 40% is horable and it's right in line with the other horable polls. But nope I even heard Mithchell say his approval rating is 40%. Sorry folks 40% is not good at all. I am sure you will not hear the WH today bragging about these numbers.

1. Surely when the approval is so low
they should focus on the disapproval percentage as that represents the majority.

2. we have to admit--his polls have gone up (a little)--his renewed 'resolve'
does work on many people. They like to see this.

8. Gas prices in South NJ have gone up $0.16 in the last 8 days.....
So, I would tend to agree with you.

5. I saw it too...
Her and Charles were trying their best to make Bush look good.

Shouldn't they get someone else to brag on the economy? I mean, Andrea's husband is somewhat responsible for our economy.

I agree about the polls too. Bush goes from 37% to 40% and these Bush lovers act like that's proof that he's a "popular" leader again.

Truly pathetic.

6. It was A Long Time Ago
But if my kid brought home a paper from school with a 40 on it, I didn't brag about it! that's for sure. I know America is being dumbed down and I realize the bar is lowering for standards, but WTF--40% good?????

9. That's how it always is
With approval ratings. If I get a 65 on a test, I'm extremely dissapointed, but if the President has 65% approval ratings he
s singing in the frikkin rain

10. when you don't give a shit about 60 percent of the people, 40 looks good
In their world, all that matters is shoring up their base. WHen they were dipping into the 30s, they felt they were losing their own base.

Frankly, if chimpy's ratings ever got much above 50 percent again they'd think they were doing something wrong.

11. I am surprised that Imus didn't clue her in to the "dead cat bounce."
It seems like a term Imus would be familiar with.

12. IMUS Wasn't There Today...
But he has had her on quite a few times. I switch from WJ to him on occasion and a couple of days ago he & his wife were sort of having a bit of a "flame" going on! About HIS hair!

They say he's sick, but I wonder! I only saw a few snippets of THAT exchange, but had I been he I would have taken her to the wood shed. Those comments could have been made "out of ear shot!" And I'm no big IMUS fan either.

I will say she was promoting a fantastic new hospital and perhaps he had made some derogatory comments about it. I find him a bit of a "blow-hard" at times, but then I'm not living with him and he does seem to care about less fortunate kids.
