3. of course our bombing the hell out of it didn't do anything.

And if Saddam was destroying Iraq why was the electric supply better before the invasion?

11. i love going after "rebuilding" success stories
what ridiculous logic: the rebuilding effort is a success because we are rebuilding things that were not in need of rebuilding before our war.

i've heard that there are now X number of iraqis with cell phones-A GREAT SUCCESS. i know, from my contacts with AT&T, that most of the telephone network was destroyed in the attacks. so they have cell phones because their land line infrastructure was destroyed...by us...prior to "rebuilding". AT&T and others have made a fortune providing wireless service as part of the "rebuilding".

i've also seen some claiming success because water treatment facilities are being rebuilt. hmmm, rebuilding them would imply that they worked before.

these success stories, usually from bush supporters, are based on the assumption that iraq didn't have phones, water, electricity, etc beforehand.

it raises the bigger question of why certain things were targeted. i understand the strategic value of knocking out the power. why destroy the generating facilities, when knocking down the lines accomplished the same thing and would require a repair, rather than a rebuild? what is the strategic value of destroying water treatment facilities if we aren't targeting civilians?

simple answer, someone (read: contractors) can get paid to rebuild those things.

12. If IEDS if that is what you call them and other bombs are...
going off all over Iraq then how are they building when they have to watch their backs all of the time. From what I see reporters are afraid to go in certain areas, I don't see how that much building is going on, wouldn't they have to rebuild again and again, the same areas and buildings.

15. No. we're safer over here!
thats why we are fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here. I believe they are laughing at that shit, some have probably came across the border along time ago and are watching and waiting.I have always wondered how anyone could believe this bunch of bushit!

Yet we managed!
