5. Journalism and the current news media are incompatible.
He says the big corporations like Time Warner and Disney have no interest in providing accurate journalism because it is against their own self interests. Good journalism is expensive and it doesn't really pay the bills. That's a rough paraphrase. He said a lot more. Had some good comments on print journalism, someone asked about Judy Miller. He said he didn't know her, but it seems the oversight wasn't there and some other stuff. Said she seemed pretty tight with the neocons and bought their lines.

It'll should be on the C-Span site later. Its a conference of the National Security Archive group. Now they have a panel of middle eastern adviser wonks, it's pretty informative, as well. The guys seem nonpolitical, quite analytical. I'll catch it later, hubby's got the remote. He hates this stuff. but it's his turn, anyway. :)

6. And one of the wonks slammed Condy.
It was about her flip flopping around on the torture stuff the other day. Neither one of the guys thought things were going great, although one said it was too early to say we had lost.
