Is this the Democratic Party organization that Dean chairs?
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 06:20 PM by ProSense
For more than 200 years, the Democratic Party has represented the interests of working families, fighting for equal opportunities and justice for all Americans.

Today, Democrats continue that fight with a firm commitment to the values that we all share as Americans: a secure nation that leads in the world, strong economic growth and new jobs, affordable health care for all Americans, and a better education for our children.

Our Chairman

Our Leaders
DNC Chairman: Gov. Howard Dean
As Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Gov. Howard Dean is making the Democratic Party competitive in every race, in every district, in every state and territory, while integrating national and state party operations and standing up for Democrats' core values.

Senate Democratic Leader: Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)
Since Nevadans elected him to the Senate in 1986, Harry Reid has developed a reputation as a consensus builder and a skillful legislator. Even his Republican colleagues praise his reasoned, balanced approach.

House Democratic Leader: Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)
Overwhelmingly elected by her colleagues in the fall of 2002 as Democratic Leader of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi is the first woman in American history to lead a major party in the U.S. Congress. A leader with a distinguished record of accomplishment on both domestic and international issues, Pelosi is successfully uniting Democrats behind an agenda to keep America strong and prosperous.

DGA Chairman: New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson
Governor Bill Richardson was elected Governor of New Mexico in 2002 by the largest margin of any candidate since 1964. In just over two years, Governor Richardson has made good on his campaign promises to improve education, cut income taxes and the tax on food, build a high-wage economy, develop a statewide water plan and make New Mexico safer by getting tough on DWI, domestic violence and sex crimes.

DSCC Chairman: Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY)
United States Senator Charles E. Schumer is in his second term representing New York State. Before his election to the Senate, Chuck represented the Ninth Congressional District in Brooklyn and Queens for eighteen years. Before that, he represented the Forty-Fifth Assembly District in Brooklyn for six years.

DCCC Chairman: Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL)
In the 1980s, Mr. Emanuel held senior staff positions at the DCCC, and helped the Democrats win and maintain their House majorities. He played a major role in the election of Bill Clinton as his Director of Finance in the 1992 Presidential campaign. Mr. Emanuel then served as a top White House advisor to President Clinton from 1993 to 1998.

DLCC Chairwoman: State Senate President Joan Fitz-Gerald (D-CO)
State Senator Joan Fitz-Gerald is the President of the Colorado Senate -- the first woman to hold the position in the state's history. She has served in the Colorado Senate since 2000, and from 2003 through 2004, she served as the Minority Leader for the Colorado Senate Democrats. Prior to that, Fitz-Gerald was the first woman to be elected to serve as the Jefferson County Clerk.

The Democratic National Committee
The Democratic National Committee plans the Party's quadrennial presidential nominating convention; promotes the election of Party candidates with both technical and financial support; and works with national, state, and local party organizations, elected officials, candidates, and constituencies to respond to the needs and views of the Democratic electorate and the nation.

The Democratic Governors' Association
The Democratic Governors’ Association was founded in 1983 to support the candidacy of Democratic governors throughout the nation. The DGA provides political and strategic assistance to gubernatorial campaigns. In addition, the DGA plays an integral role in developing positions on key state and federal issues that affect the states through the governors’ policy forum series.

I can believe there are party differences, but OMG with all the agenda-related conspiracy crap.

The Republicans are ruin the country. The Democrats just won major elections. The ratio of Democratic to Republican plans for Iraq is about 20:2.

Democrats are ahead of the game.

2. But our leaders are saying Iraq is winnable. Do you know what that means?
It means more killing, and no end to it.

These are our party leaders saying it.

4. Recommended. Let's get this on the Greatest page!

And keep an eye out for our Montana Governor, Brian Schweitzer! He speaks truth to power and is a real burr under the saddle of a certain brand of pretend cowboy in D.C. Trained as a soils scientist with a stint working in Arabia, this gentleman knows America has to be more self reliantin energy and is pushing for alternative power sources. He damn well knows the Bush pals, the House of Saud, are NOT our friends. Schweitzer is a rational, can-do populist who thinks outside the box, and inspires others. He is the real deal!

Montana is a mess after 16 years of GOP administration. Marc Racicot fucked the place royally then got a job lobbying for the likes of ENRON, the RNC and bush/Cheney 04. Martz was a self-proclaimed "corporate lap dog". Schweitzer has a lot of work here. When he has a track record to stand on, we might let some of the rest of the nation benefit from his skill, enthusiasm and stubborn insistence that problems be solved with win/win methods to make life better for Americans.

5. If he is part of the party, he has a right to speak.
If I am a part of it, I can speak, too.

Most of those listed want the war to go on.
