Ohio to outlaw recounts and shield Diebold
(snip)

HB3's most publicized provision will require positive identification before casting a vote. But it also opens voter registration activists to partisan prosecution, exempts electronic voting machines from public scrutiny, quintuples the cost of citizen-requested statewide recounts and makes it illegal to challenge a presidential vote count or, indeed, any federal election result in Ohio. When added to the recently passed HB1, which allows campaign financing to be dominated by the wealthy and by corporations, and along with a Rovian wish list of GOP attacks on the ballot box, democracy in Ohio could be all but over.

5.  Obviously They Can. The Results of Last Month's OH Elections Proved That
They can make up any results they please, turn a 2-1 loss into a 2-1 "win" and the media will explain it away somehow.

If we are ever to win the Presidency again, we will have to find a way to do it without Ohio or Florida.

8. And they're taking care of any Dem voting problem in Louisiana by
simiply killing New Orleans - the rest of the state has voted mostly GOP.

Not that actual voting numbers are going to matter much anymore unless we can get the DINOs to ACT. They continue to ignore the whole issue of electronic election fraud - and have sold out democracy.

9. I hope
enough of us are preparing ourselves for the inevitability where we have to choose to either accept dictatorship in America or FIGHT!! Because I am sorry folks, but you all know We The People have lost. Might as well face it, We The People have lost. The corporations and the secrete societies own this country. You know it and I know it.

So the question is: What are we going to do about it?

I can answer that question. The answer is: Not a God Damn Thing!

I am sorry people but I have absolutely no more faith in the vast majority of Americans. I have faith in most DU'ers I've come to enjoy reading, but I have no faith in the average ignorant --with his head up his ass-- American.

**sigh** What happened to us?

10. Ohio is rigged from top to bottom
The last round of elections all went our way across the country, but Ohio was a runaway rightwing victory.

It's amazing how these people have so little shame.

12. I don't understand why Ohio is so right-wing.
It's bad enough that they don't want fair elections, but now the Nazi party is marching again? WTF? Does anybody know what the roots of this conservative ideology is in Ohio? What's the history?

13. Thanks shraby,
I had been wanting to write a letter to the Toledo Blade on this very issue and you gave me the impetus to do it. I will let everyone know if they publish it.
