Inept leadership?
Just heard something from oxy Rush of all people that got me to thinking. He said, if the polls indicate support for withdrawl, why dont the dem leaders put it to a vote, to defund the war? Is this weak leadership, or something else?

Ive never bought into the weak leadership idea that gets floated around here, but this has me scratching my head. Why dont they act on this? Put it to a vote and let voters see where everyone stands. Win or lose the vote, they would show the voters that they respond to the WILL of the people, not haliburton. No?

1. Gott in Himmel--political advice from a raving right wing junkie!
"why dont the dem leaders put it to a vote, to defund the war?"
Because Rush's asshole buddies control Congress and would fuck with the resolution, as he well knows.

Look what happened when Murtha was unwise enough to trust the GOP leadership; there was a potential public relations debacle that ended with Murtha having to vote against his "own" resolution.

Fortunately, Mean Jean Schmidt shifted the public focus...but you can't count on idiocy to bail you out every time.
