1. Indeed, how noble of him...
Indubitably this trip will be as productive and worthwhile as a Fox news report by Oliver North "live" from Iraq.

3. Even if it is possible to plan a trip that quickly

I have to wonder if they would risk his security by throwing something like that together just to provide an answer to Hillary.

Could it be that this trip was already planned?

5. Oh, no doubt, but her timing was impeccable.
I'll give her that and I'm not even a big Hillary fan. :)

6. I think he is there for some mission planning
Iraq is just a jumping off point for further misadventures.

8. Probably to whip the oil ministry into shape. Oil production is down from
last year.

4. What happened when he was there before the invasion, I wonder?
Was he kissing up to Saddam?

11. Got any details?
I know Halliburton was trading with Saddam through its Paris office, in violation of US sanctions...

12. Not much. Here's a line from an ABC News article from today:
His last visit to Iraq was as defence secretary in 1991 when he toured US troops operating in southern Iraq after the first Gulf War.

13. I know some Republicans
including Alan Simpson and Bob Dole, visited Saddam in 1990 and praised him extravagantly. Simpson even said he wished he could control the press in America the way Saddam controlled the Iraqi press. It got media play in Canada and Britain, not much here...

10. I'd love to see Saddam's defense lawyers paste posters of Rummy...
shaking his hand.

by walking unprotected around the streets of Baghdad. Fascist.

15. That was just a photo-op. He on his way
to visit his rich buddies in Saudia Arabia and do more oil takeover plotting. That American Ambassador to Iraq even stated on Wolf's show this morning that Cheney has now left Iraq for his next stop. He didn't say what Cheney's next stop would be.
