Bush's 1st term: Avoid taking responsiblity for any mistakes. 2nd term:
Pay lip service to 'being responsible' in order to avoid 'being held accountable.'

Katrina, Iraq, the lsit goes on and on.

1. Something to really mess with the Bushbots
O.K. if you've taken everything Bush says as the truth. In '03 things were "going great". In '04 it was "things aren't perfect, but we're turning the corner"...again and again. Now in '05 "things are shitty right now, but stay the course".

The trend lines are going in the wrong direction. Bush said so himself.

3. Good point
In essence he has admitted that his 2003 statements were lies. His statements contradict each other.

We have been so inundated with their spin that we don't even question or unpack their statements anymore (the press stopped doing it long ago). For goodness sakes, he doesn't even make sense! Are they getting more and more ludicrous or are are more people noticing the nakedness of the emperor?

2. * Is The Born Again pResident.........
taking responsibility and admitting mistakes. Just like when a drunk hits bottom there is no place to go but up. * has hit bottom from his lying, killing, torturing, spying, outing. He's been outed. Most 'merican people have his number (excepting the 79% of the Repugs that still support him). The only thing he can do is take responsibility and admit mistakes. Confess his sins. And hope that the people feeling sorry for him will boost his sorry poll numbers. This is the new Rovian strategy. Along with the four speeches and news conference. Put him out there and keep repeating the lies until people believe them to be the truth.

Yet there is still enough there for his loyalists to say he is determined, sticking to his guns, showing resolve and not cutting and running.

How will he put his foot in his mouth at todays press conference?

What about all the coming furor on the spying incident? Wbat about the upcoming indictment of Rove?

How will all this effect him?
