David Gregory was sitting in for Lauer (which O'Donnell will be at the press conference then) and he was reading White House talking points to Russ Feingold. I liked Russ before but I really like him over the last few days. Russ would have none of it.
"There are TWO WAYS to do this under Title 3 or through the FISA court, that's it"

"We need to investigate to see if it is illegal"
"I don't know what statute they think they are using"

These are paraphrased but that was the gist of it.

Then Katie was discussing it with Russert-who actually is being as black/white about this as Feingold.

Anyway Katie got to this "So is this going to be constitutional lawyers and scholars versus real Americans who want to prevent another 9/11 from happening"

Russert: "Yes I think it is Katie ......"

BTW-Condi was ridiculous on MTP. I actually laughed out loud at her. She said basically FISA is outdated and then used it as justification for spying or something like that I was laughing to hard to catch all of it. ONe more thing-why was the SECRETARY OF STATE talking about domestic spying? Why wasn't the Attorney General fielding questions about this?

We have absolutely got to do two things concerning the media when Democrats return to power. The first is to repeal at least the '96 Telecom Act(and if we can the other past legislation that has allowed media conglomeration), The second is to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. This would be a big step toward restoring honesty in the media.
