How will the press handle Bush this morning?
Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 09:36 AM by quaoar
You know Bush is desperate if he speaks before someone other than a military audience and agrees to take questions from reporters.

The questions is: Will the press carve him up like a Christmas turkey or will they follow him over the cliff like compliant lemmings?

I say that when it's over he will wish he hadn't done it.

1. Will David Gregory be there?
Helen Thomas? Anyone who will ask a real question and demand a real answer?

6. I have this mental image of gwb's "handlers and babysitters" promising
him a drink, if he just stays sober long enough for the speech, press conference, whatever.

Then I imagine him coming off the stage, clapping his hands together and saying, "OK, I did it, where's my Wild Turkey?"

7. They are desperate. Hillary suggested Cheney should go to Iraq -- he did.
Gergen said yesterday the speech as a good first step but he should hold a press conference (and Tucker chimed in, "He is good answering questions"), and so Bush will. I have a feeling that they are showing they not in a bubble but also they basically do not know what to do so they actually are looking for anything to get them out of the hole they dug themselves into. Makes Bush look even more of a loser, imho.
