There were 12 people that leaked to the NYTimes?
Did I hear that correctly? And how did Bush know how many had leaked? That's a lot of people if that is true. That is almost a coup. Were they Democrats? Were they past members of intelligence committee? Were they members or former members of CIA? Anyone else hear that number?

2. I didn't hear Shrub say that, but I've heard that before.
I think it was in the NYT article. I have to admit, 12 sources is a lot!

3. They weren't 'leakers', they were *whistleblowers* who...
exposed illegal activity by this administration. Important distinction. Don't fall for the administration line.

Aren't there supposed to be laws that protect whistleblowers from harassment and retaliation?

5. According to the Times, there was more than one...
They referred to "senior government officials" (I believe that was the term, but definitely in the plural).

6. "Senior" usually means very very high.
Thats what they call the Vice President, or Rove, when they speak off the record.

Bush may have put this out there his own self.

He might have more. Think about it, its like Guantanamo. Bush probably did many illegal things in the first panic after 9/11. And they will all eventually come out.

So how do you get it out of the way? How do youj nuetralize the potential issues?

Choose when and where they come up, is how.

7. It shows it was organized...
We should be wondering whom it was organized by.

8. Bush MIHOPed this leak, he wanted it out there.
First off, he is admitting it, he never admits to anything.

Second, he responded immediately, no hesitation, no period of confusion or delay. Thats not his usual pattern, this administration is very very slow to respond to unexpected developments, takes 3 days on average (witness Katrina).

This thing, he responds instantly with two speeches? Come on, this was a set up, he did this.

9. I gotta say, if twelve people thought enough to out this...
there had to be the worst elements to it...i.e. spying on political enemies. I mean, I can see it bothering one person and maybe that person telling, but TWELVE? Just how bad it is is sorta easy for me to get when I see twelve people spilling the beans.

11. I may have misheard that...
But the Times did refer to senior officials, in the plural, so we can assume there is more than one.
