Bush and accomplices say they needed to do it quicker and faster...
So, that is why they could not go thru the FISA court. But, I thought they could do the same thing they did without having to go tothe court for 72 hrs, if it was an emergency? So exactly how did they do it quicker??

2. Clearly there was no serious impediment to....
getting what they wanted, since they could get warrants 72 hours after the fact.

Perhaps they had something to hide. I know, hard to believe with this crew. :sarcasm:

3. A very weak defense - it's his Dept of Justice
If the authorization channels in his Dept of Justice are too slow for his needs he can fix that. He can hire, fire and shuffle people around at will. What a weak defense. I definitely smell a rat.

4. You are correct. When they say they did it for expediency,
they are LYING, plain and simple. I've heard that lie about 20 times tonight on the TV. No less the G. Gordon Liddy, the convicted felon is spouting the exact lie as I type this post. He's exactly who we need to give us advice on the law. Maybe he took some law books with him to jail.
