GOP in for very hard landing in 2006
IMO the problems for Bush and the GOP are too big to overcome. What makes it even worse is the absolutely blind party loyalty. There is no quaetion for me, and seemingly day by day to more and more Americans that the GOP always puts party before country. Even the the cooperation of our so called media, Americans are waking up to the fact that they can longer trust the traditional media and also to the fact that the GOP is full of liars, thieves, cheats, crooks and scumbags. They can no longer play the spin game. The only way I see even a part of the GOP surviving is if, and only if they, the Republicans start investigating their own, but that is not likely at all and therefore they will all go down like lemmings. By the time they realize what they've gotten themselves into, it will be like quicksand....too late to save your ass. The Dems will get the House back, and at this rate maybe even the Senate. That is when all the lies and crimes against our nation and Constitution will finally begin to be revealed. The 2006 election will not be even close. With a Democratic landslide, the GOP will be unabel to "inadvertedly" steal another election. Folks, people are going to jail over all the crimes committed. many are going to jail.

7. I totally agree with AX10 - 50Senate, 233House, 28gov
I keep trying to work the numbers get that 51st winning senator but I just can't see it happening. Well, 10 months is a long time so lets hope we can get just one more seat in the Senate - then lets get some impeachment action finally done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. I hope you're right - Fear BBV
I am afraid there will be a lot of repug congressmen who barely win an election in districts where the democrat was 5 points ahead in the last polls.

4. Honestly I wouldn't be licking my chops just yet
Pollsters keep trying to tell Dems that public disenchantment with Republicans does not show up as increased approval of Democrats. Time after time pollsters tell us that the voters don't know what Democrats stand for as a party, and therefore do not trust the Democrats more than the Republicans. (OTOH, Republicans are very happy to tell voters what Democrats as a party stand for, and their version takes ever deeper hold of the voter's opinion) Democrats keep ignoring this information and continue to "meetoo" the Republicans, trying to run as individuals without a party identity. Loyal opposition doesn't have to mean humping the other party's leg. But they keep humping it anyway and they keep losing seats to the Republicans. Meanwhile, redistricting and consolidation of state government offices are allowing the Republicans to rig the elections ever more in their own favor.

5. Hope that you are right. However,

turning against the GOP does not mean that they will be turning to us. For many, many people, the policy differences will outweigh any charges of corruption. It's not like the GOP can't point to numerous Democratic crooks, making us look like hypocrites.

In my opinion, the best way to win is to stand for something that the American people want. Take the Iraq war, for example. I think Nancy Pelosi's recent waffling about where the Democrats should be on this issue helps Democrats one bit. Democrats need to stand up and be counted.

The American people will vote for something in preference to voting against something, every time. Again, using the war as an example, it's not going to be enough to be against it, we have to articulate our own views of what is a 'good' outcome, and how we are going to obtain it. If outright retreat is it, (I don't think this feasible, myself), then we shouldn't be afraid to say it straight out. But say what we stand for.

Other issues must be addressed similarly. Then, if the Democratic leadership has crafted its message with wisdom and forethought, we will sweep to victory. If not, the Republicans may again keep it close enough to steal.

8. I agree with you.
I've said for a long time that Bush's approval rating is probably in the teens, maybe 17%. The repugs know that their fate is tied with Bush and Cheney.

Yes, I believe they're scared. They're absolutely petrified about next November. You see, they can only pull the Diebold scam if it's a reasonable difference between the parties.

But if it's a HUGE difference, like I believe it is now, they won't be able to pull it off.

And the proof is in the pudding. Look at Bush's speeches lately. He's absolutely desperate.
