Poll question: What will be the outcome of the W game of chicken with Patriot Act?
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 03:36 PM by Humor_In_Cuneiform
I saw a press conference with Durbin and the Dems, and they seem willing to let it expire if necessary.

Frist won't allow the 3 month extension to come to a vote.

Bush says he will veto a 3 month extension.

Someone asked wouldn't the Repubs use it against the Dems if the law expires, saying they don't care about National Security?

Durbin said yes, it could be played that way, for political points.

But if it expires, it will be the President's choice.

1. You need one more option:
"Another MIHOP terrorist attack" - I think they will do it again.

3. Katrina showed them how unprepared we were - after 4 years
And Steve Flynn (see image 1) and "Coastie" (see image 2) have predicted where the next hit could be. We have lots of highly vulnerable marine terminals, petroleum refineries, petroleum tank farms, LNG facilities, and chemical plants. They truly are WMD's. Ever drive the Jersey Turnpike, fly into Philadelphia over Delaware Bay and the Delaware River, or from Galveston to Houston, or from St. Bernard Parish to Baton Rouge?

4. A Cessna there could well eclipse the two jumbos at the WTC
Jersey's one chemical plant/refinery after another.

6. Lucky they're spying on Americans then, that will help...er...not do
a darn thing to improve security.

Especially the way they handle what intelligence they get, assuming they haven't just been spying on the w version of Nixon's enemies list.
