2. She's schooling Wolfie in the FACTS!
Cool! She had to explain that senators are forbidden by law to discuss or share any of this info and that Cheney lied (she used the word untruth) when he said that senators and reps knew and went along with the spying.

and "praise" him for his bravery in reporting on this.I've found he reads and responds to his emails/feedback.When we blasted him with the report from media matters,he changed his tune the next day.

14. Pat yourself on your collective DU back...
A lot of us have been making it a point to push the I-word - to our reps, to the press, etc. And it's working.

Visualize IMPEACHMENT. And...

Never Give Up.

21. Stupid Question
Clinton did not leave office when he was impeached. If George W. Bush were either impeached, censured, or both and refused to depart -- does anyone have the authority to make him leave?

22. Only if his impeachment trial results in a conviction.
Impeachment is simply indictment. A trial must follow. But at that point, plenty of damage will already been inflicted upon the criminal Republicon Party.

32. Clinton was never convicted.
Impeachment is essentially the same as being charged with a crime. Clinton was never convicted in the senate trail. Thus, he didn't have to leave office. And censure doesn't actually exist. It's made-up nonsense.

And if Bush were to be convicted, there wouldn't be any issue of him not leaving. He'd immediately cease to be the president, regardless of whether he still lived at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

35. Clinton was not convicted
If the impeachment had resulted in conviction then he would have been forced from office. He was aquited but if Bush* were to be impeached by a GOP majority House I am positive he would also be convicted by the Senate and removed from office. It would certainly be interesting times...

29. The R's may want him to be investigated and vote down the articles of
impeachment in order to invoke double jeopardy (i.e. after 2006 when the house is controlled ny D's, the D's could not bring up the same charges). At least that was the buzz at the coffee shop this morning.

31. It would be funny if they tried that
Because impeachment does not trigger the double jeopardy clause in the fifth amendment. The president is not in jeopardy of life and limb in an impeachment proceeding as the only possible consequence is removal from office. Impeachment articles can be brought any number of times. It might be politically difficult to do so but there is no legal reason why it can't be done.

34. I am not a lawyer so I am not able to judge the veracity of comments made
in a coffee shop, especially when I am just starting to sip my first cup of the morning. I do remember that one of the folks I heard said something like your comment, but there was also a line of thought about this procedure being untested. I think it is too much of a stretch for the R's to pursue given they could not count on their 55 votes in the Senate in the past few days.
