On Tweety (Andrea Mitchell filling in): David Gergen

is saying something like, "I would be very surprised if they actually had these hearings Sen. Specter said he wanted, regarding the NSA controversy."

He said that he would be surprised if the administration couldn't settle this with some back-room deal (those are my words, not his) which would avert hearings, and then everything would just be, ho-hum, crisis gone, no prob, everyone understands it's all okay...

Oh, really, Mr. Gergen?? We're all just supposed to forget about this and let the republican-controlled congress handle it? That congress which has hitherto provided such GOOD oversight of the executive branch? Yeah, okay.

2. this has been the case all along

add a few interviews with Katie & Matt to catapult the propaganda and everything's forgotten.
Katrina is perfect example.

Even his poll ratings are back up to 47%. We are a sorry bunch.
