* will get away with this high crime because no repub will break ranks
They seem to know that as long as they all repeat the same lies, their armor is impenetrable. As long as all of the GOP in congress stick with the same story, regardless of how far-fetched it is, the Dems can do absolutely nothing about it.

1. Some repugs already have broken ranks
Snowe (R-ME) and Hagel (R-NE) are among those calling for an investigation.

3. Can you imagine the turmoil right now?
Just imagine that there's at least one, just ONE Republican who, in the back of their mind is thinking, "Oh, man, this isn't right".

Yet, they have to keep smiling as they lie their asses off during an interview, just like they're expected to do, knowing the consequences of telling what they REALLY thought.

It would be as if Terri Schiavo really did have cognitive thought, but was trapped in a body that just couldn't respond in any way.

What a nightmare.

6. Plus
Bush isn't nearly as fashionable as he was a few years ago. All those Representatives and Senators have to get re-elected. If they weigh their options, there isn't much political harm in going after the wire taps. And when Americans are saying in polls that they will vote for a government in 2006 that looks the OPPOSITE of what they have now...a lot of people are going to be scrambling to be on the other side of issues across from Bush.

7. Yes, Specter, Paul, and Hagel,
the usual "mavericks", will speak up for a few days, and by Friday all the dissent will be under control, and they'll be back singing *'s praises for "keeping us safe". Before anything official is done on this, like a vote or even a committee hearing, they'll be speaking as one.

8. Democrats have already cozied up with a few republicans.
There are a lot of republicans who are sick of this *resident. They don't make their feelings public but they detest this administration. *bush has ignored many of them in the hive. The quite republicans do not want to go down politically associated with this crime family. I believe Democrats are meeting with these disenchanted republicans to broker a deal in 2006 regarding Impeachment. They know how to butter their bread and no doubt have grieved the practice of democracy. Secondly, they know they will be left out in the cold by the *bush/neocons in the very near future. There is tremendous opportunity to court the republicans in Congress.

11. If the stink gets bad enough, and wafts high enough this will take
on a life of its own, with less partisanship than we've seen most of the last 5 years.
