One hour debate on defense bill stuffed with ANWR drilling has begun!

There will be one hour of debate before the cloture vote. Senator Stevens, R-Alaska, the powerful chairman of the Defense Appropriations committee, is presiding. Stevens says this is his best chance to get drilling in ANWR approved.

3. Will that be a cloture vote or a simple majority vote to cut off debate
using the "nuke" option?

4. I believe the cloture vote will come first, requiring 60 votes to proceed
to the vote. No one seems to know how vote will come out.

7. Lieberman is doing an AMAZING job right now.
And I'm not much of a Lieberman fan usually, but this may just be one of the better speeches of the day.
