Freeper compares Bush's law-breaking to Boston Tea Party
I was listening to Ed Schultz this afternoon and he read an email he got from a freeper who tried to justify Bush's spying program:

"C'mon Ed, didn't the first patriots who threw the tea into Boston Harbor break the law, too?"

That's just priceless.

I suppose next they will argue that since MLK broke the law in defying segregation, that Bush's law-breaking is OK.

Of course, both of those instances are examples of civil disobedience by men of conscience who were prepared to accept the consequences of their actions.

2. Well Now That Gonzales Has Essentially Admitted It
I guess they switch to plan B...Everybody does it.

Except, the BTP participants and MLK did not swear to uphold the Constitution.

Whoops!

4. Each freeper should be assigned an 8th grader at all times!
8th graders have to pass a US (and state) Constitution test before they can friggin' go to high school!

6. Oh, Jesus on a motorscooter!!
The Boston Tea Party and MLK's civil disobedience were acts of citizens in defiance of the government. Bush* IS the government, hosing the citizens. Idiots.

Freepers should be asked this: Who would you NOT want the most to be President? Hillary, maybe, or Howard Dean? Imagine that person ordering secret surveillance on American citizens in a way that could never be reviewed by any court and for which there would be no way to ensure that their political "enemies" wouldn't be spied on.

Are you comfortable with that?

Because Bush and the Republicans won't be in power forever -- and if it's OK for them, then it's OK for some other adminstration that you might not like so much.

10. I don't actually...
think it was illegal to throw boxes into the water.

It was a symbolic gesture of protest.

He can't even bluster right.
